How to Make Your Own Live Music Venue Poster

Design a poster for the venue in Paint, found in all Windows operating systems. Paint may be a simple graphics package, but it offers everything you need to broadcast an upcoming headliner, give a sneak peak at set lists or advertise your entire seasonal schedule on a quick to make poster.

Open Paint and click the "Paint" button in the top-left section of the workspace. Select “Properties.” Enter dimensions for the poster in the “Width” and “Height” boxes, such as “24” and “36” respectively. Click “Inches” in the “Units” section. Click the “OK” button.

Select a light colored square from the “Colors” section. Click the paint bucket symbol in the “Tools” portion of the ribbon and click anywhere on the poster to fill it with the background color.

Choose black or another easy to see shade from the “Colors” section. Click the “A” icon on the ribbon. Click the top of the poster to open the text tab.

Choose a font, such as “Showcard Gothic” or “Arial Black.” Increase the text size to 200 or your preferred headline font size.

Type the main poster headline, such as “Live Music Every Saturday Night” or “Featured Performance, Celtic Music, this Friday evening.”

Click below the headline and reduce the font size. Type the main information for the poster, which may be a date-by-date band schedule or a biography of the featured band the poster is advertising.
