Whether you're throwing your child's birthday party or celebrating a baby shower, the invitation is one of the most important aspects of the party. The invitation sets the mood of the party and gives guests some idea of what to expect. A growing trend in party invitations is the concert ticket invitation, which looks just like a real concert ticket but has the details of your party on it instead. You can order these types of invitations, but if you've got a good graphics program on your computer, you can create your own concert ticket-style invitations at home.

Open up a graphics program such as Photoshop on your computer. You can also use a word processing program such as Microsoft Word to create the invitations.

Use a sample of a real concert ticket to emulate it on the computer program you are using. If you don't think you can recreate the ticket on your own, scan the real ticket into your computer program, typing over the original words. You need to have a good knowledge of the program to do this however. The exact commands will differ depending on the program you are using. The size of the ticket should be a roughly 2.5 inches wide and five inches long.

3

Type in all of the party details on the invitation. Where the name of the concert or headline act would go, write the party name. For example, for a child's birthday you could write, "Mikey's 7th Rock and Roll Birthday Bash." Underneath, write the date and time. On the sides of a typical concert ticket are the venue and seat information. Write the address of the party under the venue section and under the seat section write, "Front Row." On the other side, list details of the party such as games, music, guitar lessons, cake and ice cream. You can also write an RSVP section with a phone number to call.

4

Print out one invitation on regular paper to see if it looks the way it should. Make any adjustments, then print out the rest of the invitations on card stock. Place the tickets in envelopes and send them out.

Tips & Warnings

Look for a font on the computer program that look likes the typewriter font usually found on concert tickets.
