When you're expecting, you want the the whole world to share in your good news. Before you do, however, you should share the news with very close family first, such as your mother. Have fun with your mom by letting her in on the news in a cute and touching way. Have tissues ready for the inevitable tears of happiness.

Create and print out what looks like concert tickets but print "Baby" and your last name as the headline act. Underneath, write your and your partner's names, such as "Featuring Laura and Tom," for example. Under venue, write the name of the hospital and under time write "on or around" your due date. In the seat section you can write "Front Row" if you want your mom in the delivery room or "waiting room" if you would prefer her to be there. Give it to your mom in a card. Expect confusion, then joyful surprise on her face.

Photo Frame Holder

If your mother doesn't live close by, send her a picture a nice picture frame with no picture. Instead, put a paper that says, "Due in July," "Replace in 9 Months" or "Insert Baby Jackson's Picture Here!" You could also put a picture of the ultrasound in the frame if you have one. It may take her a while to get it , but you'll likely get a happy phone call when she does.

T-shirts

Present your mom with a t-shirt that says "Grandma-to-be" on it, or "Grandma-in-training." You can easily have a t-shirt made if you can't find something like that. You could also surprise her by showing up wearing a t-shirt that says, "Baby on Board" or "Due in May," or whenever your baby is due. Other t-shirt ideas include "Future Grandma" for her and "Coming Soon" with an arrow pointing to your belly.

Sentimental Card

Ideal for a special occasion such as Mother's Day or your mom's birthday, write her a heartfelt note in a card thanking her for all the wisdom and guidance she has given you throughout your life. Then write that you look forward to her her support during the next nine months and how you hope you will be as good of a mother as she was to you. You could also include flowers with a tag that says, "Congratulations, Grandma-to-be!"

Magazine Surprise

Find a magazine with pictures of pregnant celebrities. Cut out a picture of your face and paste it over the face of one of the pregnant celebrities. Place the magazine open to the page somewhere you know your mother will see it. Another idea is to paste a picture of yourself with a hand over your belly and paste in over a newspaper with the headline "Breaking News!"
