Things to Wear to a Concert

Wear comfortable clothes to a concert to dance around in.

A concert is an entertaining way to pass the time with friends who share your love for a musical artist. If seeing a live musician isn't exciting enough, you can also get a rush from planning out that very special outfit. While going to a concert gives you an excuse to turn into a fashionista, make sure your clothes are comfortable, especially if you will be sitting on the lawn, standing up at the front or dancing around.

Concerts are crowded, and therefore the venue space becomes hot and humid from all of the peoples' body heat. To stay comfortable all night long, girls should wear sleeveless tops or T-shirts, and guys should dress in shirts. Depending on the concert, your attire will be more formal or more casual. At a formal concert, guys can wear collared shirts while ladies dress up in fancy tops. You can also give yourself a more trendy look by adding a vest over your sleeveless top. If the concert will be outdoors in the cold, bundle up with layers of tees and a cute jacket that you can easily take off if it gets too warm.

Bottoms

Shorts, capris and pants are good options for bottoms to wear to a concert. Leggings for the ladies are especially comfortable, as are stretchy skinny jeans that give you room to move around in. Guys can get away with denim jeans or khaki shorts. Slacks and dress pants are only appropriate for formal concerts, such as performances held at formal music halls. You don't want to wear slacks to an outdoor concert where you risk staining them in the grass.

Dresses

Dresses are fashionable, no doubt. But wearing a dress to a concert may not be one of your best plans. The problem with dresses at concerts is that with all of the crowds, odd seating arrangements, jumping and dancing around, it's easy to have an "Oh-No" moment where you realize your dress has come up a little too far. Plus, an outdoor concert could be windy. However, if you have your heart set on wearing a cute dress, try to keep it on the long side.

Footwear

Your feet should stay comfortable, so selecting the right shoes is important. Don't go out and buy a new pair of platform heels that you wear for the first time at the concert or else you could be in blister misery. Instead, wear shoes that you know are comfortable, are easy to walk in and match your outfit. Some ladies, for instance, might be perfectly comfortable in knee-high, stiletto boots while others would rather wear flat sandals.

Accessories

Accessorize your wardrobe for a concert. Pile on the cuff bracelets, chain necklaces, hats, large earrings and a studded purse to give your outfit an edgier look. You can amp up a simple outfit of boyfriend jeans and a bright tank top with the right accessories to go with it. In cooler weather, knot a scarf around your neck with a fashionable hat and hoop earrings.
